YOU’RE IN THE RIGHT PLACE IF…
This sounds
uncomfortably familiar.
You may have supported clients through this very season. You know the clinical language and recognize the signs, and still, you are not quite okay.
- You’re pregnant or postpartum and struggling more than you expected, or more than you think you “should” be.
- Your clinical training makes it hard to feel things without analyzing them.
- You feel pressure to hold it together because you’re supposed to know better.
- You’re grieving the version of yourself that existed before motherhood.
- You want a therapist who is comfortable with a fellow clinician and can offer thoughtful challenge.
- You want someone who understands your professional world without making every session about it.

The whole transition matters
We can explore your shifting identity, your relationship with work, and what motherhood means to you alongside the difficulties that brought you to therapy.
A NOTE FROM RACHAEL
You deserve a place
to set it down.
When my first therapist clients came to me, I wondered whether our shared knowledge would make the dynamic feel strange. Those sessions turned out to be some of the most meaningful work I’ve done.
My specialty is perinatal mental health: pregnancy, postpartum, and the transition into motherhood. Bringing that together with a comfort working with fellow clinicians feels like a natural extension of this work.
You can bring your professional knowledge and your uncertainty. There is room for both.

Things you might
be wondering.
Will it feel strange being the client instead of the clinician?
It may at first. We can talk about that directly, including the pressure to explain yourself clinically or appear to have everything figured out.
Do I have to talk about my work as a therapist?
Only if it is relevant to what you are going through. This is your personal therapy, rather than clinical supervision or professional consultation. We follow what matters to you.
What about confidentiality in a small professional community?
You are welcome to discuss confidentiality, its limits, and any shared professional connections during your consultation. Virtual sessions let you meet from your own private space. We can talk through boundaries and concerns before deciding to work together.
What if I’m not sure I need perinatal support?
If you are navigating pregnancy, postpartum, or your identity around motherhood, you can bring that uncertainty to a consultation. You do not need to wait until things feel “bad enough” to ask about support.
Where are sessions available, and what do they cost?
All sessions are virtual and available to clients in Ohio and Kentucky. Individual sessions cost $150 for 50 minutes. After The Glow is a private-pay practice; monthly superbills are available for potential out-of-network reimbursement. Read about rates and insurance.
